Pool Alkalinity Increaser
Alkalinity increaser (granular sodium bicarbonate) is used to raise the Total Alkalinity level of any pool or spa water into the safe, non-corrosive range. Stops eye irritation, equipment corrosion, and plaster etching caused by low total alkalinity.
Pool alkalinity increaser stabilizes the pH balance in pool water and reduces pool chemical cost by eliminating the demand for unusually large amounts of pH increaser and wasting pool chlorine due to it's rapid dissipation. Total alkalinity increaser enables chlorine to work more effectively.
Alkalinity increaser is compatible with and just as effective as Baquacil®, Soft Swim® and Revacil® biguanide pool chemicals too.
Recommended Dosage: Use 1-1/2 lbs. of Alkalinity Increaser to raise the pool total alkalinity approximately 10 ppm per 10,000 gallons.
Maintain the total alkalinity of pool water between the values of 80-140 ppm. Ideally between 100-120ppm. Test the pool water and determine the present level of total alkalinity. If the value is below 80 ppm, add sufficient pool alkalinity increaser directly into the water by broadcasting over surface. Increase the pool total alkalinity level to the ideal mid-range target of 100-120ppm. Wait several hours after application for the alkalinity increaser to distribute uniformly before rechecking total alkalinity level. Repeat adjustment as needed.
