In-ground Pool Winter Covers
America's Best Winter Pool Cover Protection That's Right On The Money!
The true strength and durability of an in-ground pool winter cover is derived from the quality of each of its components and the method that was used to construct it. Winter pool cover durability and quality results directly from these factors. The duration of the pool cover warranty often reflects the quality, but not always. So do not select your new cover by this factor exclusively. There are two different processes used to make the fabrics of winter swimming pool covers. The looming process used to make the Rip-stopping pool cover fabric, which is also used by many of the domestic manufacturers, produces fabric strands that are straighter and much stronger that economy winter pool covers. When manufactured, most all imported winter pool covers are comprised of kinky shaped strands. This difference allows the rip-stopping fabric producers the ability to make the outside layers of protective coating thinner and lightweight, which also allows it to adhere to the fabric better. Which means it is less likely to delaminate and separate because it is well bonded. But truly the most important strength factor is called the Denier of the strand, which is the actual breaking strength of each strand used to weave the pool cover fabric. Winter pool covers with Rip-stopping fabric has a denier that is nearly twice that of many Economy or imported covers. This is what makes the best quality covers almost impossible to rip, so they standup to harsh winter conditions better. The last quality factor is called cover Scrim, which is the number of strands woven together horizontally and vertically per square inch. The more strands, the tighter the weave, and the stronger the pool cover can become. Many pool owners have heard only about Scrim or warranty when they are shopping to purchase a new soft-style winter pool cover. As you can see, selecting a swimming pool cover according to the scrim count or warranty duration alone does not provide enough information to make the best cover choice.
